2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 Performance
The Silverado is very capable. It comes with three engine options. The first is a 4.3-litre V6 engine that reaches 285 horsepower at 5,300 RPM. It features a best-in-class torque with 305 pound-feet at 3,900 RPM. The second engine option is a 5.3-litre V8 engine that gets up to 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The final engine option is a 6.2-litre V8 engine that packs a powerful punch with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque!
These engines are all EcoTec engines that use three proven fuel-saving technologies to maximize efficiency: Active Fuel Management, Direct Injection and Continuously Variable Valve Timing. These systems work together to allow the Silverado to reach up to 24 highway MPG.
2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 Towing Capacity
Each engine option on the Silverado offers a different level of towing capacity. The 4.3-litre V6 engine has a 7,600-pound towing capacity. The 5.3-litre V8 engine has a towing capacity of 11,100 pounds, while the 6.2-litre V8 has a best-in-class towing capacity of 12,500 pounds with the Max Trailering Package.
